About Our Organization

OCA was founded by parents, teachers, therapists and members of the community who know that school-aged children and adults with Autism and other disabilities need more opportunities to engage in age-appropriate activities with their typical peers.

We offer After-School Programs, Adult Vocational Training, Camps, Social Skills Series, Special Olympics training, Behavior Therapy and other services for the Special Needs Community. OCA services children as young as 18 months through adult hood. Proceeds from this event support all of OCA’s programs.

“Special Needs” are commonly defined by what a child CAN’T do – by milestones unmet, activities avoided, experiences denied. OCA focuses on what an individual CAN DO.

OUR BELIEF
It is OCA’s goal that every individual that walks through our doors will have an Opportunity, in or out of the Community, to maximize their Ability.

OUR MISSION
OCA enables individuals and families with autism or other disabilities the opportunity to maximize their abilities through functional, behavioral, social, recreational and vocational programs to live within the community.

OUR VISION
OCA is a place where every individual is accepted and understood for their abilities and possibilities by providing an opportunity to achieve, contribute and grow. We’re working towards purchasing land to build a multi-functional facility for the Central Florida special needs population and their families and, ultimately, building a residential facility where members of the local special needs population can live, work, and play in a community setting.
