Proceeds from this event will allow Fauquier County YoungLife to reach out to young people in Fauquier County with the love of Jesus Christ, through fun, adventurous, and life-changing experiences.

About Our Event

Hey folks! We’re gearing up for an awesome year of club, campaigners, contact work and camp and we really need the support of the community to meet our goals! What better way is there to support our local YoungLife area than to slip on your bowling shoes and roll a couple of strikes for a very worthy cause? We’re hosting our first annual Bowl-a-thon at Galaxy Strikes in Warrenton and all proceeds will directly support our programs and camps for middle and high school kids in Fauquier County. What’s the best part? You’ll be bowling and it’s easy to sign up! You can sign up individually, create your own team and even join the event from another city through donations.

You’ll be helping us continue our mission of introducing kids to Jesus and helping them grow in their faith. Check out how to register below or it’s easy to make a donation if you can’t make it.

How a Bowl-a-thon Works

Commit to participate in Fauquier County YoungLife Bowl-a-thon on Thursday, May 30.
Choose a Team Captain, and choose your unique team name! Get creative!
Team Captain recruits bowlers, forms a team of 4-6 bowlers, and registers their team and members.
Registration fee is $50 per bowler ($200 for team of 4, $250 for team of 5, $300 for team of 6) and is applied toward fundraising goals.
Bowlers set team fundraising goals, asking friends and family to donate to their team, online through www.bowlathon.net/event/fauquier-young-life-2024

* Donations are tax deductible. Receipts will be automatically generated & emailed.

* Prizes awarded for best fundraiser, best team uniforms, best team spirit, high score, gutter ball getter and others!

How to Participate

CREATE A TEAM: Grab up to six of your favorite people to bowl with (each team may have 4-6 bowlers) and choose your unique team name! Get creative!

REGISTER TO BOWL: All bowlers must register to bowl. Select the time slot in which you would like to bowl (6-7 PM, 7-8 PM, or 8-9 PM). You can join an existing team, or sign up as a single bowler.

Don’t have a team? No sweat! Just register to bowl and select “Please assign me to a team” – we will place you on one! Please leave a note in the comment field if you prefer a specific session.

PAY REGISTRATION FEES: Registration fee to bowl is $50 per bowler ($300 for a team of 6). Registration fee includes shoe rental and two games.

We invite all bowlers to collect pledges and donations. It would be great if each team could set a goal to raise $1,000. Daunting, i know! But another local Bowlathon team last year actually raised in excess of $3,000. Don’t underestimate yourself and be bold in asking. Then come have fun on May 30th!

* TEAM CAPTAINS – please make sure all of your teammates know the date, time and location of the event. Session begins promptly on time. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time to check-in with your team, grab your shoes and grab the perfect ball! Don’t forget your socks! Shoes are complimentary. Food and refreshments are available for purchase at Galaxy Strikes.

Win Prizes

Prizes will be awarded, each session, for the following:

Highest bowling score by a team
Most creative team costumes or theme-wear
A GRAND PRIZE will be awarded to the bowling team who raises the most money for the event.

How To Help

BECOME A SPONSOR: There are eight sponsorship levels that include a variety of great benefits.

PLEDGE/DONATE: How to help your favorite bowling team win big! Make a pledge to a team or individual bowler by selecting their name on the Donate page, or donate to the event. Any donation amount will help reach more kids, recruit more volunteers, hire new staff, and build a fund to send kids to camp. Please consider the following suggested pledge amounts:

$10 – Allows a leader to grab coffee with a student.
$25 – Buys a bible for a new believer!
$50 – Covers a week of our awesome Club supplies.
$150 – Covers a single registration for our annual Committee Leader Weekend of training.
$250 – Helps offset summer camp expenses

Your donation will have a direct and immediate impact on kids’ lives. Fauquier County YoungLife reaches kids at Fauquier High School, Liberty High School, Kettle Run High School and through Fauquier County Wyld Life.

SET A GOAL: You can top the $1,000 commitment we ask for from each team. Don’t underestimate yourself!

START EARLY: Don’t wait until the last minute. It’s never too early.

JUST ASK: Don’t be afraid. Ask people to help you support Fauquier YoungLife. Ask everyone: family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, your boss, hairdresser, or. your dentist. Remember that your friends and family want to support you, so don’t be shy!

SEND A LETTER or EMAIL: Write a simple letter to friends and family members. Tell them why you are bowling and ask them to support you by making a contribution. Include a link to our donation page for online donations. This is a painless way to ask and brings in a surprising amount of donations!
