CMC Bowling For Kids (BFK) is our largest fundraising event of the year. Money raised through the event enables CMC to match children in a professionally supported relationship with a caring adult.

CMC Bowling For Kids is a fun-filled event that provides companies, organizations, churches, schools and families the opportunity to show their support by raising dollars and awareness to support Children’s Mentoring Connection.

How to Participate

Create a Team:  Form a team of just 5 individuals, collect pledges and help support mentoring programs right here in Hancock County.

Register to Bowl:  Join us at the event as a bowler.  If you don’t already have a team you’re bowling with, sign up and we’ll assign you to a team in need of additional bowlers.

It’s Not About Bowling, It’s About Helping Kids!

We need you to help us reach our CMC Bowling For Kids fundraising goal of $65,000. All proceeds from CMC Bowling For Kids stay in our community to help our kids.

About Our Organization

The Children’s Mentoring Connection of Hancock County began as a Big Brothers Agency in 1974. The Big Sisters program was added in 1978 and, in May of 2004, the Board of Directors voted to discontinue the affiliation with BBBS of America and officially became a locally independent organization.

CMC provides a professionally monitored mentoring program for boys and girls, primarily from single parent families. It is our vision that every qualified child, needing services will be actively engaged in a mentoring relationship designed to enhance their personal growth as competent, caring and confident individuals.

The agency staff recruits, screens and closely evaluates adult applicants while gathering a complete social history and personality profile on each youth applicant. Once a match between adult and child is made, follow-up supervision and guidance is provided to the mentor, client and parent/guardian. The volunteer works with the child in an asset-building relationship in the areas of growth and development, prevention, life-skills, problem solving and decision making. If there are additional problems in the family the Case Manager will offer support, networking and referral service to other Hancock County social service agencies.
