Teams
Each team has four bowlers. Registration is $200 for each team ($50 per bowler). Your registration fee pays for bowling fees and shoes, delicious hors de oeuvres including gourmet pizzas, shitake mushroom spring rolls, beef teriyaki skewers and ten pin tater skins with bacon and bleu cheese. There will also be music, raffle prizes and fun for everyone! Free bowling after the tournament.
Company Sponsored Teams
Your company can sponsor your team of four for $500 (which includes registration fees for the team and donation).
Become a Team Captain
The Team Captain will:
Step 1: ORGANIZE A TEAM OF FOUR PEOPLE (which includes yourself). You and up to 3 of your best friends, co-workers or favorite family members. They do not have to be bowlers or have any previous bowling experience. They just need to want to have fun. GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY, pick your team, name them and sign up.
Step 2: PAY REGISTRATION FEES FOR YOUR TEAM. Registration fees pay for your bowling games, shoes, and food. Click the "Pay Registration Fees" link on the left to pay your fees using a credit card or your PayPal account. If you are paying by check, send the registration fees to:

Step 3: TEAM CAPTAINS WILL RECEIVE information sheets for each team member (feel free to make more copies).
- You will encourage your team members to canvas their network of friends, family, neighborhood, etc. to collect donations (donations are a flat fee, not a per pin amount). Each team member's goal is to collect $100 (but don't stop there!).
- Encourage your team members that if they ask for $10 from 10 people, they will have raised $100 which will help us reach our goal of $20,000!
- Tax receipts will be available upon request.
Step 4: REGISTER YOUR TEAM at www. bowlathon.net. At this website you will be able to keep track of your team members and donated money.
- Choose a team name - the lane will be reserved under whatever name you decide upon. Be creative, wild, or conventional - the choice is yours! And if you want to come up with a team theme costume, go for it!
- You can direct donations to the website where sponsors can pay with a credit card through PayPal and apply the donation on behalf of an individual bowler or team.
Step 5: DONATIONS can be made online using a credit card or your PayPal account or by check. If using your credit card or PayPal, click the "Make a Donation" link on the left. Donations paid by check must be made payable to "Shade Foundation" and mailed by August 15, 2010 to:

Step 6: REMIND YOUR TEAM TO SHOW UP AT KING'S IN DEDHAM, MA ON AUGUST 22, 2010 AT 6PM. Have fun during this time of supporting your community, call your team members prior to the event and arrange to meet them 15-30 minutes before the event begins.
Step 7: PREPARE YOUR TEAM - Lead your team members to check in, get their shoes, and find your lane. Put on your shoes, pick out a bowling ball or use your own ball, and HAVE A BLAST!
